Accessories You Need For Your Snowmobile Trailer

Snowmobile trailers are pretty unique models. While they don’t need much to get you and your vehicle where it needs to go, there are a number of accessories on the market you’ll want to purchase before you load up your snowmobile and hit the open road. Check out our article below for a short list of components we recommend having before you take your snowmobile trailer for a spin.

Traction Mat

Because snowmobiles use skegs rather than wheels, they’re very likely to slip and slide around in your snowmobile trailer even after you’ve tied them down. Unfortunately, wheel chocks won’t work on these vehicles, and we recommend investing in a handy traction mat for your trailer to keep your snowmobile from being damaged.

Tie Down Straps

While a traction mat is extremely helpful, it isn’t all you need to keep your snowmobile safe and secure while in your trailer. Be sure to invest in some durable heavy-duty tie-down straps that are compatible with the bar located in your trailer’s bed to keep your snowmobile securely in place.

Snow Tires

In order to use your snowmobile you’ll need snow, which means you’ll likely be driving your snowmobile trailer through inclement weather. To ensure you’re prepared for the ice and snow, we recommend investing in a set of snow chains or snow tires for your trailer.

Ramps

While they may look small, snowmobiles are pretty hefty vehicles, and you’ll likely need a ramp in order to successfully load your model into your snowmobile trailer. While many snowmobile trailers come with ramps included, if yours is missing this handy feature we recommend investing in a handy portable ramp for your model.
